Notice to Vacate"Machussetts"?

Ive recieved a notice to vacate: not due to non payment of rent. due to the apartment in which i live in is being sold. i live in machussetts. i read that in maine that the landlord or constable has to physically hand you the notice to quit in person unless after 3 honest attempts they can't reach me than they can just leave it, is that the same for machussetts? or can they just drop it off on my doorstep shortly after they recieved it from the constable "not even sealed"
