Why are guys so hard?? please help!?

okay so ive been talking to this one guy for half a year and me and him are friends and we tell each other we love each other but it feels like he dosent mean it all! he talks to alot of diffrent girls on myspace and it makes me feel like hes just using me for no reason me and him hardly hangout but we text every night! hes also my bestfriends ex but shes cool wih us being friends! he wont ask me out and i dont know what to do if i should end this is or just wait and see what happenes! please help what should i tell him how should i ask him if he really loves me please help thanks:)
