Rented Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD?

My family and I are going to Colorado soon and I had a question. We rented a Jeep Grand Cherokee from Budget rent-a-car and it said on the website that is was four wheel drive. I was wondering if they really are 4WD or if they just put that on their website and then went out to Auto-Zone and bought a $5 "4x4" badge. Has anyone rented one of these? Are they really four wheel drive because we like to drive up in the mountains and it would be nice if it was snowy (I know it is the middle of July) or muddy. Also, if it is 4WD I'm almost sure it is the automatic 4WD. Has anyone taken a Grand Cherokee off-road with the Quadra-Trac I. Or maybe it is the standard Quadra-Trac II with 4WD full time, Neutral and 4WD low range. I don't really care which. I just need to know about this. Thanks!
