Are there tax deductions for cancer patient's health care expenses?

My fiance was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last year and it has been a costly experience. We fortunately had medical insurance through my job, which I was laid off from on December 31, and are now on COBRA insurance. The medical costs I'm referring to are the costs for prescriptions, transportation, hospital parking, co-pays, supplies, and a dozens of miscellaneous expenses. Can anyone out there tell me if any of these items are tax deductible for either of us? We still are not married, as we called off our wedding when he was diagnosed, so we are not filing jointly. Thanks so much in advance for your help.
